October 25-27 we did a girls trip to Put In Bay for Halloween.  Last year we went to Mackinac Island for Halloween, decided to try something different, a little less brisk.   So us 15 middle aged women ventured off.

Anyways, we stayed at a airbnb called Auntie Janes House, there were 3 (I think) of these houses for rent.  Airbnb was pretty easy to work with, however prices varied quite a bit from what it said on airbnb and what we paid.  Still waiting to see if we put a deposit down and whether we will get it back.  Auntie Janes (Number will be below) was a descent place to stay, within walking distance to all bars and restaurants and bars.  We took the Miller Ferry (Number will be below) across which was a little ways away from our house on the island, but not bad, maybe 5 minutes. We decided to take a couple cars across because we had A LOT of stuff between 15 women, if you know what I mean.  The ferry ride was about 20 minutes and we left out of Catawba which was approx. 3 hours 30 minutes from our home at Wayland, MI. 

We had planned our costumes before leaving, it was pretty easy to do as we were Retired Hooters Girls with saggy boobs and all.  We had a lot of fun on the Island, but to be honest I was expecting way more people for this event as Mackinac Island is packed.  I was ok in the long run as restaurants weren’t busy and bars, except Mr. Eds were not busy. 

When we arrived on Friday we unpacked and my friends had a little surprise birthday celebration for me with balloons and a piñata, it was fun.  We then went out for dinner, not sure where we went as I may have drank a whole jar of moonshine (I would not recommend).  Through our business Sage and Grace Boutique I made us all “matching hats”!! They were really cute and said I’ll Bring the……… Sarcasm, wine, shots, red bull, bail money, puckered lips, indecent exposure, voice of reason, sexy back, rookie, crazy, bad decisions, shenanigans and alibi.  Was super fun!!!

On Saturday we walked around a little bit and shopped.  Cute little town with somewhat touristy items.  Would be a great place to visit in the summer as they are known for their swim up bars and key west style bars on the water outside (closed while we were there).  We ended up at Mr. Ed’s and they had a comedy show which was a riot!!! We all drank beer out of a bucket of draft beer (kind of odd, and not to sanitary)  but it was better than buying 1 beer for $5.75 a piece!!!! Crazy Huh!!!!!! The bucket was $40 with $34 refills.  Seems a bit more reasonable.  After that we went back and got ready for the night.  Retired Hooters girls we rocked!! We ended up winning 2 contests with winning 300$ at one and a free night stay at another. 

Heading home….. well we weren’t sure we would make it home in the morning as the wind was just whipping and we were under a gale force wind warning watching the boat just rocking….we all said our goodbyes to our husbands haha.  We made it on the ferry at about 1 after waiting in line a couple hours.  Always pack extra snacks, came in handy.

Advice I would give you all if you are thinking about taking a girls trip over Halloween to Put In Bay, OH.

1)Auntie Janes house was nice but you need to take your own sheets, towels and DON’T FORGET KITCHEN TOWELS!!!!! Our 1 mistake.  Auntie Janes- info@auntjanes.com or 310-800-3922. GREAT LOCATION!!!

2) Bring garbage bags, lots of them and when full put them in the Kirby.  We ended up having some sort of animal in our front porch where we put our full garbage bags.

3)Although Halloween was fun if you are looking for somewhere with more people I would go to Mackinac Island which is a ton of fun! We will do that next time. 

4) Miller Ferry was nice if you are taking a car over but there was a ferry much closer to the house.  Miller Ferry  millerferry.com.

5) Drink lots before going out, beer is expensive at the bars.

6) Eat before going out!!!! You will thank me!!
